Ginger Chicken ( Allam Kodi kura )




Ideal for hot Rice/Roti

Ingredients :

1/2 kg chicken
2 tsp chopped ginger(chop into long stripes)
1 big onion
A bunch of corriander leaves
3 green chilli
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp vinegar
2-3 tsp corn flour
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp pepper powder(or crushed pepper corns)
salt
oil


Preparation :-

1)Cut the chicken into pieces and clean it.

2)Add turmeric,soy sauce,vinegar,corn flour,salt to the chicken pieces.Let it marinate for about half an hour.

3)Grind corriander leaves(Leaving some for garnishing),green chilli,onion into a fine paster and keep aside.

4)Take a wide open non stick pan.Heat the pan and add oil to it.Add the marinated chicken to the pan and let it cook.Chicken itself oozes some water ...no need to add water again.Let it cook in medium heat and stir often.

4)Once the chicken cooked it starts to turn into brown color.Now add the chopped ginger and ginger garlic paste to it and stir well.

5)Add the onion paste to pan and mix well.Add some salt.Stir often.Let it cook for about 5-10 mts.Let it dry to your level of interest.

6)Switch off the flame and serve by garnishing with corriander leaves.

A lot of recipes available on the internet give brief steps...but you have taken time to list the minute details too. This is very helpful to cook the dish as it is supposed to be.

Good recipe !! I find your blog very informative as it describe the whole cooking process and ingredients very nicely. ginger chicken is one among my favorites and i will surely try this recipe.
