Gongura Pappu (Gongura Dal)




Bit Sour spicy yummy Recipe....!!!!!!

Ingredients :

1 cup of Toor Dal (Kandi Pappu)
1 cup of Sorrel Leaves (Quantity depends on you interest..You can buy 4-5 stems and pluck out the leaves)
1 big onion
3 green chilli
1 red chilli
curry leaves (karivepaku)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (Jeera)
1/2 tsp chana dal (Pachi Sengapappu)
1/2 tsp mustard seeds (Aavalu)
1 tsp red chilli powder
3 garlic clove pods
salt
oil

Preparation :-

1)Clean toor dal and sorreal leaves.Take a bowl,add toor dal,sorreal leaves and Pressure cook them for 4-5 whistles.

2)Heat a pan,add 2 tsps of oil.Add red chilli,cumin seeds,chana dal,mustard seeds and fry tilli mustard seeds splutter.

3)Add chopped garlic and fry until it turns light brown.Adding gralic gives  good taste to your dal.

4)Add chopped green chilli,chopped onion,curry leaves and let it fry till onion gets trasperant.

5)Add cooked toor dal,sorrel leaves to the pan.Add salt,red chilli powder and cook for about 5 minutes.If you want your dal thinner add some water or if you want your dal a bit thicker keep the heat untill it loses water.

6)Serve hot with rice/roti.
